Library response to "Refining Our Strategy"
On 29 May 2009 the Vice-Chancellor announced a review of the University's Growing Esteem strategy. Details are available from the Growing Esteem web site, and all staff were encouraged to read the discussion paper titled "Refining Our Strategy".
The University Library made a submission to this timely review. In the spirit of Growing Esteem, our submission was developed collaboratively with staff, students and other stakeholders.
In parallel with the University-wide consultation process, the Library conducted its own series of forums and workshops during June and July. Library staff, stakeholders and students had multiple opportunities to share their expertise and ideas, and to contribute to shaping the Library's submission - via email, through the Information Futures blog, or at committee meetings and workshops.
The Library's response
The Library produced two versions of its written response:
- a short version (PDF 42 kb) submitted to the Growing Esteem review
- a detailed position paper (PDF 92 kb) that responds specifically to selected questions asked in the "Refining Our Strategy" discussion paper
Your feedback about these documents is always welcome: please leave a comment on the blog or email info-futures@unimelb with your ideas and suggestions.
